About Hayley
Meet Hayley Miller – a Vancouver award-winning make-up artist whose work has graced wedding aisles, high-fashion runways, stylish magazine spreads and star-studded movie sets for more than three decades. With a vast, varied and ever-evolving career, Hayley is proud to be blazing a trail toward the use of more eco-friendly make-up; a peek inside her current kit reveals organic cotton pads, bamboo brushes and natural cosmetics and skin-care products that are beautiful not only for her clients, but for Mother Nature, too.
Background
Hayley’s career began in 1991 with MAC Cosmetics in Winnipeg. Three years later she went west, to Vancouver, B.C., taking on the role of make-up retail manager for Bobbi Brown at Holt Renfrew. Soon, Hayley became a familiar face in Vancouver’s growing film and TV industry, doing everyday make-up, special effects, prosthetics and airbrushing. Hayley has since taken numerous film courses to supplement her on-set experience, and is a member of the prestigious IATSE 891 Make-Up Department.
Hayley’s work in Vancouver (Hollywood North) has earned her many accolades, including a Leo Award for Best Make-Up in a Feature Length film Murder Unveiled (2006) and a nomination for Best Wedding Make-Up Artist in Canada (2004). She was also the official make-up designer for the First Nations Pavilion during the 2010 Winter Olympic Games. Hayley's latest project is serving as first assistant make-up artist for the Disney+ series The Spiderwick Chronicles. Among the many productions she’s recently been fortunate to be a part of: Batwoman season 3, Pachinko, and Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies.
Bridal
Hayley launched her own “Hayley Miller Make-Up” company in order to extend her cosmetics services to bridal parties. Her ability to work with and bring out the best in each of her clients, coupled with her ability to cater to wedding parties of any size, has made her a highly sought after make-up artist by planners and brides alike.
Having worked with some of Vancouver’s premier wedding and event planners, including Alicia Keats, Dream Group, Milestone Events, Filosophi Events, Countdown Events and A Sweet Beginning, not to mention the city’s top photographers and videographers, countless brides have trusted Hayley to create the perfect look on their special day. Her make-up artistry has been featured in dozens of magazines, and she’s often asked to give tips and advice in national beauty publications like Elle Canada.
Beauty
Beyond using only the best beauty products and applying them with expert technique, much of Hayley’s focus is on achieving just the right look for each and every one of her clients, from Hollywood celebrities to models, brides and working professionals alike. With a passion for make-up and a desire to share her expertise, Hayley happily offers practical lessons in cosmetics application and artistry.
Beliefs
In wanting her clients to look and feel their best, Hayley takes an integrative approach to make-up artistry by using and introducing her clients to more natural, organic products that offer extraordinary results. Her desire to know more about the subject and to better avoid toxic ingredients led her to pursue a certificate in Skincare Ingredients for Cosmetics Professionals from UCLA and a certificate in The Fundamentals of Nutrition and Health from the Vancouver School of Holistic Nutrition. She attended a week-long program at Mitzpeh Alummot—a rejuvenation centre and health farm in Israel, where she studied the health benefits of nutritional foods for our bodies—and our skin.
